Finland: Sinebrychoff, a unit of Carlsberg, takes top spot in Finnish brewing industry

Carlsberg A/S posted on June 6, 2005 that the leading Finnish business journal, Talouselämä, has published their annual analysis of the 500 largest companies in Finland in 2004.

Sinebrychoff, a unit of international Carlsberg Breweries A/S Group, takes a clear leading position among breweries with 10 points. The journal places Sinebrychoff on level with Nokia, the telecommunications giant. The Hartwall brewing company took the second place with 8,4 points. Measured by turnover, volume and personnel the two are equal, but in profitability Sinebrychoff stands in a class of its own.

The journal estimates that after its large investments, Hartwall has reached the production efficiency of Sinebrychoff, but that Sinebrychoff has the leading brands.

Sinebrychoff manufactures, markets, and distributes high-quality beverages to customers in Finland and the nearby regions. Its main brands are KOFF, Karhu and Carlsberg beers, Golden Cap ciders, Kurko long drinks, the Battery energy drink and the Hyvää Päivää wellness drinks. Sinebrychoff also manufactures, markets and distributes Coca-Cola products in Finland. Sinebrychoff's products are exported to the other Nordic countries and several European countries, the Near East, Asia and South America.
