UK: Jennings will continue brewing beer
The new boss of Jennings has pledged that the brewery and its beers will not be a victim of last weeks takeover, The Time and Star commented on May 25.
Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries managing director Stephen Oliver said the Cockermouth business is now a key focus for the company.
He promised that Castle Brewery was as safe as the ones it owns in Wolverhampton and Burton and that its pubs will continue to thrive under the Jennings name.
Mr Oliver is in Cockermouth heading the integration process following the successful takeover of Jennings on Friday.
Mr Oliver said: We have absolutely no plans to shut the brewery and mess about with the beer
Camra has been asking us to give a 10-year commitment but frankly we havent got that at our breweries in Wolverhampton or Burton
For as long as drinkers in Cumbria and beyond drink Jennings beers and go to Jennings pubs, we are absolutely committed to Jennings, he added.
