News from e-malt USA: Miller Brewing Company selects Accenture and Cognos for performance management solutions

Miller Brewing Company, America’s 2nd largest brewer, announced on May 18 it has selected Accenture and Cognos, the world leader in business intelligence and corporate performance management (CPM), to implement a performance management solution across Miller’s commercial organization within the U.S.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing Miller’s operational and financial performance management. As a result, Miller Brewing Company will gain better visibility of its business, improved ability to plan, shortened decision cycles and increased accountability with greater alignment to monitor performance against priorities.

"Miller Brewing Company’s selection of our CPM solution illustrates Miller’s market leadership as it drives business performance for greater competitive advantage," said Dave Laverty, senior vice-president of global marketing at Cognos. "We look forward to teaming with Accenture to deliver performance management solutions that create measurable business benefit."

Milwaukee-based Miller Brewing Company is the oldest major brewer in America, celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2005. Miller is a wholly owned subsidiary of SABMiller plc, one of the world’s largest brewers. Miller’s principal beer brands are Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft and Miller High Life. The company imports Pilsner Urquell, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Foster’s and has craft brews Leinenkugel’s and Henry Weinhard’s. Its portfolio of brands also includes Milwaukee’s Best and Sharp’s, a non-alcohol brew. Miller produces Icehouse from the Plank Road Brewery, a small division of Miller; Olde English 800; and Mickey’s Malt Liquor.
