Analysts: This year there is the impression that malt prices tumble without any pressure from the industry
It has been many times that the structure of large brewing concerns against a divided malt industry with too many small units puts sellers at a disadvantage.
This year there is the impression that malt prices tumble without any pressure from the industry. Old crop stocks have led to offering prices around EUR 220,- FOB seaport in bulk. New crop malt traded to Africa and Asia at prices slightly above EUR 250,- FOB in bulk in container.
Domestic sales, delivery 2006, franco breweries were reported from EUR 240,- down to 230,-. The domestic sales campaign for the crop of 2005 has commenced later and slower than in former years.
