EU: Winter barley seeding mostly complete and crop 2025 is seen to be off to a good early start
Winter barley seeding is mostly complete across western Europe under generally dry, and warmer conditions. Better than the previous two crop years, crop25 is off to a good early start, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.
Dry conditions, if persisting for any extended period would impact yield potential. For crop25, the experts forecast the production to be higher (+0.1 mln tonnes) to 62.6 mln tonnes.
Barley exports have slowed but remain ahead of crop24 pace, it is reported. Malting barley prices have firmed driven largely by support from feed barley. Premiums remain quite low for crop25, but wider for crop26. Very little trade in malting barley is reported.
