EU: Barley crop forecast remains steady while exports rebound slightly
Winter barley seeding has thrived under generally favourable dry conditions across Europe. However, this leaves soil moisture levels low in certain regions, such as France, RMI Analytics said in their late October report.
The experts forecast for barley crop25 remains steady at 62.5 mln tonnes. Barley exports have rebounded slightly, and are ahead of crop24 but in line with crop22&23.
Ending stocks are forecast to increase by 2.7 mln tonnes during the crop25 season.
Malting barley prices have bounced slightly higher as gran markets are supported. UK premiums for variety specific small volumes are still reported (e.g. Planet) but in general prices are aligned.
