South Korea: HiteJinro to introduce premium Japanese whiskey "Fuji" series in South Korea

HiteJinro announced on the 14th that it will introduce the premium Japanese whiskey "Fuji" series of four types for the first time in Korea. With this, it has completed a total lineup of six types, following the previous import of "Fuji Sanroku Signature Blend" and "Fuji Single Malt Whiskey" last year, ChosunBiz.en reported on July 14.

According to HiteJinro on that day, the products being introduced this time are "Fuji Blended," "Fuji Single Blended," "Fuji Single Grain," and "Fuji Single Malt 17 Years."

The Gotemba distillery, which produces the Fuji series, was established by the Kirin Group in 1973. Located in the forests of Mount Fuji, it uses clear and soft water that has undergone a long natural purification process. It is a place where malt whiskey (made primarily from barley malt) and grain whiskey (made primarily from grains other than barley) in the styles of the United States, Canada, and Scotland can be produced simultaneously at a single distillery.

Fuji Blended is a limited edition aimed at the European and American markets. It is characterized by fruity aromas such as European pear, sweet flavors of red fruits, and a refreshing note of wood. Fuji Single Blended is the standard of blended whiskey that the Gotemba distillery aspires to. It is a daily whiskey that satisfies from beginners to enthusiasts, featuring soft and delicate sweetness like honey with aromas of peach, apricot, and orange.

Fuji Single Grain is a product that harmonizes rich fruity aromas and subtle spiciness from three different grain whiskeys. It is characterized by sweet aromas reminiscent of raspberry, orange marmalade, and pound cake. Fuji Single Malt 17 Years is regarded as a masterpiece representing the malt whiskey of the Gotemba distillery. It is aimed at whiskey enthusiasts who value delicate flavors and depth, and only 57 bottles will be sold in the country. It features sweet aromas of European pear, quince, and white flowers along with complex oak flavors that include maple and brown sugar.

Currently, Fuji Sanroku is sold at Emart Traders, and the newly launched products are expected to be distributed mainly through major whiskey bars nationwide.
