USA, NJ: Magnify Brewing Company to open its doors in Medford this month

Magnify Brewing Company is on tap to open its doors in Medford sometime in July, according to owner Eric Ruta, Burlington County Times reported on July 6.

When it opens at 17 North Main Street, it will become Medford’s fourth brewery.

Medford’s other breweries include: King’s Road, which is located at The Feed Mill, Lower Forge and Farm Truck. All are located on Main Street in pretty close proximity.

Magnify Brewing Company opened its flagship location 10 years ago in Fairfield in North Jersey. Ruta knew after a few years in business they had reached capacity and knew they wanted to expand.

They searched around the state and explored their options. They ended up in Burlington County.

“I was looking for a space, a town that was going to support me, because I know other places have towns that don’t support them,” Ruta said. “So that was the No. 1 thing. Was Medford going to be supportive of a big, new brewery downtown and did they want to see the downtown grow and both of those answers were yes…They do an amazing job of bringing people to downtown and that’s a huge reason why we’re here.”

“Finding the right location was as important to us as the need to increase capacity,” he told the Courier Post previously. “The decision on where to move took us years to finalize and ultimately, we landed on Medford.”

Ruta said previously he was drawn to Medford’s beautiful downtown. They are also excited about the visibility of being on Main Street.

“The town has a charm and community focus that we were drawn to,” he said. “For instance, we are excited about the many events Medford sponsors for community involvement and are looking forward to being an active participant.”

“I went to that Dickens Festival in December. They shut down Main Street. You could barely get into any one of them (the breweries). All three were packed to the gills. It was 20 deep at all three places to get a beer. That’s amazing.

“There’s a chicken, cheesesteak place and burger place, Gouldsburger’s, open right across the street from us. Do I think that’s a coincidence? No. Are we going to completely piggyback off of one another? Of course. That’s great. That helps me. That keeps people in the seats and that helps them.”

The expansion of Magnify Brewing has been in the works for quite some time. A post on Magnify’s Instagram page in early 2020 said it had found the “perfect location but at that time, the world had other plans.” That was a reference to the pandemic.

“We also have a significant customer base in the Medford and the larger South Jersey area,” Ruta said. “People already know us and support us, so it was a logical next step to grow our presence with a physical location. We are looking forward to continuing to connect with these customers and to building relationships the many new ones we have yet to meet — with a brewery in their backyard.”

Located at the site of the former Medford town hall, Magnify Brewing will have a spacious taproom, and a full production facility on site where they can distribute beer (both kegs and cans) they brew and package there, Ruta said.

The brewery will have an on-premise experience with roughly 130 capacity indoor and 120 in their outdoor beer garden.

An earlier post on Magnify Brewing’s Instagram page stated that it looked forward to expanding the community “we’ve fostered in northern NJ to the southern half of our state. Fairfield is near and dear to our hearts. The original brewery and tap room will continue to operate as-is.”
