Barley news Ukraine: New crop barley prices slightly up this week

Prices for new crop barley in Ukraine increased slightly last week. Support came from active demand by traders, processing enterprises, and the insufficient supply from farmers, who were in no hurry to sell and were waiting for more favorable market conditions, APK-Inform reported on July 1.

The harvesting campaign is already underway in four regions of Ukraine - Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk, and as of June 26, 151.6 thousand tonnes of barley had been harvested from 55.4 thousand hectares, with a yield of 27.4 c/ha.

Bid prices for new crop barley increased over the past week by 200-400 UAH per tonne and were formed within the range of 8,200-9,000 UAH per tonne CPT.
