EU: 2024/25 malt shipments fall short of 2022/24 but up 4% versus 2023/24
In the crop year 2024/25, malt shipments from the EU fall short of 2022/23 by 3.8%. This comparison is significant due to the robust exports in 2022, which were followed by the inflationary pressures of the last two years that have impacted maltsters, RMI Analytics said in their latest report.
However, it's not all bad news; there has been a 4.0% increase in 2024/25 compared to 2023/24, along with a 5.2% rise over 2021/22.
For the current year 2024/25, notable changes include a drop in Brazil imports, which is partially balanced by enhanced exports to South Africa, the analysts said.
