Russia: Beer, beer drinks production up in Russia in 2024
Beer production in Russia increased by more than 10 percent in 2024, RBC Wine reported, citing Rosalokoltabakcontrol (RATK).
The production of beer drinks in Russia also showed a significant increase (by 22.5 percent). The RATK explains these dynamics by the introduction of a registry of brewers and whitewashing this segment of the alcohol market. At the same time, experts who spoke with journalists explained this by a redistribution of categories due to the increase in the excise rate, manufacturers who previously labeled their products as "fruit alcoholic" and "low-alcohol" have now transferred them to the categories of cider and beer products, respectively.
