Turkey: Roasted malt imports up 139% in 2024
In 2024, Turkeys import of roasted malt increased by 139% to 109 thousand tonnes, rising for the third year in a row after three years of decline, IndexBox reported on January 27.
The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2023 when imports increased by 1,108%. Imports peaked in 2024 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, roasted malt imports skyrocketed to $67 mln (IndexBox estimates) in 2024. The most prominent rate of growth in money terms was recorded in 2022 with an increase of 760%. Turkeys malt imports are likely to see steady growth in years to come, IndexBox analysts believe.
