Poland: BRAU UNION announced that Viktor Mautner-Markhof, CFO of Brau Union Österreich will be heading the finance team of Grupa Zywiec, the largest operating company of BRAU UNION in Poland. Viennese born Viktor Mautner-Markhof will be transferring to the central office of Grupa Zywiec, the largest operating company of BRAU UNION in Warsaw, Poland in May 2005.

Viktor Mautner-Markhof began his career with the company in 1993. Firstly, responsible for mergers and acquisitions, then, in 1994 he advanced to CEO of the Czech brewery Starobrno, a.s. In 2001 his added responsibility included heading controlling at BBAG. Since 2003, Mr. Mautner-Markhof is also Member of the Brau Union Österreich Management Team and responsible for finance, controlling, IT and purchasing.

In Poland he will be responsible for finance of the important BRAU UNION operating company, Grupa Zywiec.

Grupa Zywiec is number one in the Polish beer market with a market share of 36 percent. The company has 5 breweries, Bydgoszcz, Cieszyn, Elblag, Lezajsk, Warka and Zywiec. In 2004, Grupa Zywiec, with over 6.000 employees, achieved a sales volume of more than 10 million hl beer (in particular the brands Heineken, Zywiec, Warka, Tatra, Strong).

A successor of Viktor Mautner-Markhof for his position at Brau Union Österreich is expected to be appointed in due course.
