Germany: Bitburger Brauerei sold about 4.12 million hl of beer in 2004. Bottled beer sales increased by 0.5% up to 2.83 million hl, while canned beer decreased by 57.4% from 332,700 hl in 2003 to 141,400 hl in 2004. The overall results of Bitburger Brauerei are considered satisfactory, taking into account the country’s negative trend of beer consumption.
