Canada: Barley production forecast remains at 7.8 mln tonnes
RMI Analytics barley production forecast for Canada remains at 7.8 mln tonnes. As well, the US crop remains steady also and combined, North America is comfortable from a total supply standpoint.
There is quality variability in Alberta (thin, light test weight) but in the current demand picture, there is no supply concern overall. Looking ahead to crop25, there has been much-needed rainfall in key regions.
The pace for Canadas barley exports, to the US and overseas, continues to lag behind the 5-Yr average, but still a slight improvement over crop23 which is a small positive.
