USA, IN: Triton Brewing Co. to close for good on December 14
After 13 years in the Lawrence-Fort Ben area, Triton Brewing Co. will close Dec. 14, the brewery announced in posts on social media.
Among the reasons for closing, Triton cited "supply line changes, a soft labor market, ever-shrinking margins, the attenuation of the craft beer market and increased competition."
Co-founders and owners David Waldman and Jon Lang opened Triton in 2011 at 5764 Wheeler Road in a historic building and former horse farm that was once part of Fort Benjamin Harrison. Triton was an entrant in Indy's brewery boom alongside contemporaries Sun King Brewing (opened 2009), Bier Brewery (2010) and Daredevil Brewing (2011). Over time, Triton developed a following behind year-round beers like the Rail Splitter IPA and Deadeye Stout.
In its closing announcement, Triton invited customers to celebrate at a "see you later" celebration on its last day, Dec. 14.
"Dave and Jon, along with our team, greatly appreciate everyone who has come in over the years," the post read. "We have met so many people and made many new friends whom we will cherish long after our doors close."
