Brewing news USA, CT: Tox Brewing Company now open in downtown New London

Tox Brewing Company is now open its downtown New London location. The brewery relocated from Broad Street to 123 Bank Street, Patch reported on November 24.

Tox Brewing, established in 2019, is now in a 14,000-square-foot space that is roughly 10 times larger than their previous home. The new spot opened this past weekend, according to the brewery's Facebook page.

Owners Dayne Laskey and Michael Zaccaro announced they would be making the move earlier this year, stating that the Broad Street spot had never been big enough to meet demand.

The brewing company was started by Laskey and Zaccaro, who are described on the Tox Brewing website as "two lifelong friends from New London County that went to preschool together and have been the best of friends since fifth grade."

The Bank Street location now has a pizza oven and a coffee counter. The pizza service proved very popular when Tox Brewing opened Friday night as they ran out of dough, according to a Facebook post.

The new space has two floors, with operations on the bottom floor and seating upstairs.

All of Tox's beers are named after poisonous plants and animals, a nod to Laskey's job as a professor of toxicology at the University of St. Joseph. One example is the "Double Dart," a New Zealand hopped Double IPA.

Tox also announced that in addition to its full tap list from Broad Street, they are offering a new beer brewed at Bank Street. Called Pollen, the beer is "a single hopped 6% Pale Ale brewed with a simple grist and our house ale yeast."
