USA, CO: Goat Patch Brewing announces pending acquisition of Pikes Peak Brewing Company

Goat Patch Brewing, a popular veteran-owned brewery in Colorado Springs, has announced the pending acquisition of Pikes Peak Brewing Company, as the owners of Pikes Peak look to retire, FOX21 News Colorado reported on November 18.

Pikes Peak Brewing Company (PPBC) has been serving the Monument community for over 13 years. Now, Chris and Judi Wright, founders of PPBC, are retiring from the brewing industry.

“It has been an honor to serve our Monument neighbors and the Colorado Craft Beer Community,” said Chris in a press release. “The bonds we’ve formed over the past 13+ years have meant the world to me and our entire staff. I am excited to watch the future of Pikes Peak Brewing with the continued support from Monument and the Colorado Craft Beer consumer.”

Goat Patch said its mission and vision aligned with that of PPBC, which made the acquisition “a natural step.”

“Chris and Judi have created something truly special, and we’re excited to build on their work while unlocking new opportunities for both brands,” said Justin Grant, co-owner of Goat Patch Brewing Company. “Our goal is to merge the strengths of both breweries, ensuring that the spirit of Pikes Peak Brewing Company remains a cornerstone of the Monument community while expanding what both brands can accomplish together.”

Goat Patch currently operates at a 3,000-beer barrel (BBL) capacity, and said the 10,000-BBL production facility at PPBC provides an exciting opportunity for growth for Goat Patch, which will assume operations once licensing is officially transferred.

Goat Patch said Pikes Peak’s current Monument location will remain Pikes Peak Brewing Company, preserving the legacy that Chris, Judi, the staff, and investors have built over the past 13 years.

“This acquisition isn’t just about increasing our capacity—it’s about continuing a story that has meant so much to the Craft Beer community in southern Colorado for over a decade,” said Cate Baze, co-owner of Goat Patch Brewing Company. “We see this as a baton being passed, and we’re excited to carry it forward with the same passion and dedication that PPBC has always been known for.”

Goat Patch said the sale of PPBC is expected to close by the end of the year, but due to the license transfer process, a final closing date is not set.
