USA, IA: Backpocket Brewing acquires beer brands of Peace Tree Brewing
Coralville-based Backpocket Brewing has acquired the beer brands of Peace Tree Brewing, KCRG reported on November 6.
It comes after Peace Tree Brewing, of Knoxville, ended its brewing operation over the summer, after nearly 15 years.
Peace Tree Brewing owner Megan McKay said selling to Backpocket will allow her brewerys legacy to live on.
In a release, Backpocket Brewing said the agreement ensures Peace Trees beloved beers remain integral to Iowas rich craft beer scene.
Her dedication to the brand she painstakingly built has set benchmarks for quality and innovation, solidifying Peace Tree Brewing as a cornerstone of Iowas craft brewing identity, Backpocket Brewing said in the release.
Peace Trees flagship, award-winning beer, Blonde Fatale, is among the beers set to re-enter the market.
Backpocket said it also plans to reintroduce other Peace Tree brands in the future, but it is initially focusing on the brewerys flagship brand.
