Canada: Canada malting barley prices soften as planting advances
As barley crop 2024 planting advances and under much improved moisture situation in Canada, malting barley prices are softer, RMI Analytics latest report says.
The demand situation for malting barley remais weak, with export pace remaining at the low end of the past five-year average and malt demand is struggling. All of this adds a much more bearish tone over the market with the improving crop 2024 prospects.
Domestic feed barley prices are higher in a slow trade as farmers are busy planting crop 2024 and cattle feeders are still very well covered. Also, at the same time the US corn prices are up as global supply is reduced.
