World: Barley trade forecast left unchanged at 27.546 mln tonnes
The global barley trade forecast is left unchanged in USDAs first report of the year: at 27.546 mln tonnes versus 30.369 mln tonnes in 2022/23.
World barley crop forecast for 2023/24 is set at 142.871 mln tonnes this month, compared to 143.59 mln tonnes in the December forecast and 151.623 mln tonnes estimated for 2022/23.
Global barley consumption is seen at 144.661 mln tonnes vs. 145.33 mln tonnes forecast in December and 149.577 mln forecast for 2022/23. Ending stocks are seen at 18.379 mln tonnes versus 18.104 mln tonnes in the December report and 20.165 mln tonnes estimated for 2022/23.
