Russia: In January 2005 retail beer sales in Russia increased by 8.8% compared to January 2004 up to 5.71 million hl. Meanwhile, the sales of vodka and liquor production decreased by 3.6%.

Russian beer market increased by 11.1% in 2004, compared to 2003, up to 82.24 million hl. The leading company of the market in 2004 was BBH with 32.4% and Sun Interbrew with 15.4%.
