China: Beijing Yanjing Brewery Co. Ltd., China's third-largest beer-maker, has no plans to invite foreign investors even though it has talked to several firms, the company president said on March 8. "Many foreign investors are talking to us but we don't have any concrete plans," Reuters cited Li Fucheng. Yanjing, an indirect subsidiary of conglomerate Beijing Enterprise Holdings, is one of the few major brewers in the country that has yet to partner with a foreign beer maker.

Yanjing, with an 11 % share of the world's biggest beer market by volume, ranked as the 12th-largest brewer in the world, and hoped to soon enter the top 10, Li said.

Last year, Anheuser-Busch, the world's number two brewer by volume, took over China's Harbin Brewery Group Ltd. for $692 million after a landmark battle with arch-rival SABMiller.
