Moldova: Moldova’s largest beer maker Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery announced a 81.2% rise of its net profit up to MDL 75.1 million (US$ 6 million) in 2004. Company’s net profit increased with MDL 33.65 million. Net sales volumes of Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery increased by 35.3% up to MDL 414.57 million, cost of sales increased by 27.3% up to MDL 248.18 million.

96.5% of the company’s shares are owned by Efes Breweries International N.V. During the last two years, including January and February of 2005, Efes Breweries International N.V. invested about US$ 25 million. In 2005 they are going to invest in Moldova’s brewery about US$ 10 million for company modernization. Vitanta, the main beer brand of Efes Vitanta Moldova Brewery accounts for 75% of country’s entire beer market.
