USA, VA: Champion Brewing Company shutting its doors after more than a decade

A Charlottesville business is shutting its doors after more than a decade, CBS19 News reported on June 19.

Champion Brewing Company announced on June 17 that its last day of operations will be June 30.

In a statement on its Facebook page, the company wrote, “It’s always an emotional journey to start, operate, and wind down a business, but through your support, we accomplished everything we set out to and more. You made a former nondescript officer with a 12-space parking lot into one of the most open and joyous community spaces we can remember.”

The company has been experiencing difficulties in recent months, closing restaurants and scaling back its operations.
