EU: Barley exports far behind last year’s numbers
EU barley exports are far behind last year’s numbers. Shipments in July – November, 27 were 2.743 vs. 4.627 mln tonnes last year, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their December report.
Main exporters were France with 1.06 mln tonnes, Romania with 820 thousand and Germany with 725 thousand tonnes.
Major destinations were: Saudi Arabia which took 1.03 mln tonnes, China with 440 thousand, Jordan with 350 thousand, and Tunisia with 200 thousand tonnes.
EU barley imports were 925 thousand tonnes, of which 460 thousand from the UK and 430 thousand from Ukraine.
