World: January-August beer production up in China, Germany, and Russia this year
Chinese beer output was 39.3 mln tonnes in August, plus 12% y/y; January-August saw production reach 263.7 mln hl, plus 0.9% y/y, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier in October.
German beer sales totalled 8.825 mln hl in August, plus 11.8% y/y, January-August volumes were 60.32 mln hl, plus 3.6% y/y. Sales of beer mixes totalled 3.45 mln hl over the first eight months of the year, plus 1.2% y/y.
Russian beer sales are reported at 8.2 mln hl in August 2022, + 3.6% y/y, January-August saw volumes increase to 58.4 mln hl, + 2.4% y/y.
Ukrainian beer sales Jan/Aug 8,39 Mill. hl, minus 31,6% y/y. Malt production Jan/Aug 108.000 tons, minus 22,5% y/y. (Malt production looks pretty good under the circumstances, it corresponds to a malt input of 12 kilos per hl beer).
U.S. domestic beer sales increased by 2.4% in August, to 14.6 mln bbls., whereas January-August volume was 109.96 mln bbls., minus 4.2% y/y. U.S. beer imports in January-July reached 23.8 mln bbls., plus 3.9% y/y, of which from Mexico 18.85 mln bbls., plus 12.1% y/y.
