Azerbaijan: The largest beer maker of Azerbaijan, Baku-Castel, sold about 14 million litres of beer, 37% increase versus 2003. However the net profit of the company remained flat due to significant rise in production costs. The company is planning to increase the production and sales up to 16 million litres of beer in 2005.
Baku-Castel is 81% controlled by Brasseries of Glacieres Internationales (BGI), a member of the Castel Group of Companies. BGI has invested so far more than USD 30 million in the brewery.
