World: January-July beer sales up in Germany, production down in China despite an amazing July

Chinese beer output totalled 42.2 mln hl in July, plus 10.8% y/y; January-July volume was 226.9 mln hl, minus 0.5% y/y. Amazing July, in spite of Covid lockdowns, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their September report.

German beer sales were 8.19 mln hl in July, minus 4.9% y/y, January-July volume reached 51.49 mln hl, plus 2.3% y/y.

Japan’s July beer sales saw a drop of 3%, after 3 months of increases, no volumes available.

Russian January-July beer sales totalled 50.3 mln hl, increasing 2.2% y/y.

Ukrainian beer sales were 7.14 mln hl in January-July, minus 31.6% y/y. Malt production in January-July reached 94,000 tonnes, minus 31% y/y.

U.S. domestic l.p. beer sales were 13.7 mln bbls. in July, minus 5.5%, January-July saw sales of 95.4 mln bbls., minus 5.2% y/y. Beer imports totalled 20.3 mln bbls. in January-July, plus 4.5% y/y, of which from Mexico 16.0 mln bbls., plus 13% y/y.
