World: Barley production forecast keeps shrinking due to weather issues

Global barley production forecast continues to shrink as weather events reduce the crop 2022 potential, RMI Analytics said in their latest report last week.

The analysts’ global barley crop 2022 estimate is further reduced to 145.2 mln tonnes, with downwards revisions in the EU27, the UK, and Australia.

Reports from Southern Russia show favourable crop development – wheat and barley - with similar good conditions in Ukraine on smaller area.
