Brazil: Hop imports up 66% in 2021
Hop imports into Brazil reached a new record in 2021, when the country imported 3,506 tonnes an increase of 66% year-on-year, RMI Analytics reported earlier in March.
Germany is the biggest exporter (with 63% of market share) to Brazil. The US is ranked second, accounting for 33% of the total volume of hops imported by the South American nation.
According to the RMI Analytics experts, these hop demand numbers affirm the strong performance of the local beer market (both industrial and craft brewing) which has doubled in the number of breweries between 2017 and 2020.
