Asia & Africa: Good malt sales reported from Southeast Asia and outhern Africa

Good malt sales (no quantities available) are reported from Southeast Asia and the southern African countries, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their May report.

In Australia Boortmalt reopens its seventh malthouse, at Cavan, the capacity is 77,000 tonnes of malt. The group's capacity is 450,000 tonnes.

Australia's malt industry is very competitive in the world, sells well to Asia and Latin America, helped by a large and good barley crop, which has lost its main market China temporarily.
