Weather has been benign during winter and for spring planting in the EU, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier in April.

The progress of spring barley seeding is: France 100%, Southwest Germany 90%, Northeast 50%, England from 90% in the south to 60% in the north, Scotland 30%, the Czech Republic 10%, Denmark and Sweden 5%.
