World barley trade 2004/2005: United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) published on December 13 its latest forecast of world trade changes of barley in 2004/2005. According to USDA, 2004/2005 Australia barley exports forecast drops by 200,000 tonnes to 3.3 million tonnes as a deteriorating crop reduces exportable supplies. EU-25 barley exports forecast is up 500,000 tonnes to 3.3 million tonnes because of reduced competition from Australia and Russia and the use of export subsidies. Russia barley exports forecast is down 300,000 tonnes to 1.7 million tonnes due to a smaller crop.
