India: United Breweries Ltd resumes operations with limited workforce and in phased manner
United Breweries Limited (UBL) has resumed its operations with a limited workforce in a phased manner as per the directives of government authorities, Indiainfoline reported on May 6.
In an exchange filing on May 5, the company informed that the operations at the breweries are being carried out in full compliance of the precautionary measures, conditions and directions as mentioned in the guidelines of the authorities on the COVID19 safety advisories.
The company had halted operations on March 23, 2020, in the wake of Covid-19 outbreak in India.
UBL shares were down ~2% at the BSE and it is trading at Rs894, down Rs 16.20 or 1.78% than its previous close of Rs910.20.
“United Breweries Limited has taken all recommended precautions in its operations, which includes – sanitization and hygiene, thermal scanning, maintaining physical and social distancing and deep cleansing of premises,” the company said in its release on May 5.
“The Company is closely monitoring the situation to take timely action on gradual resumption towards full operations to the extent possible under the regulations and continues to treat safety of its staff and stakeholders as priority,” it added.
