EU: Malting barley prices slightly down on prospects of good crop this year

European malting barley prices for crop 2019 – spring and winter - came slightly down towards the end of the week, GrainCom reported on April 5.

Crop conditions are good so far. Planting is going on now in Scandinavia and malting premiums above feed are still comfortable (especially for French winter barley), which ultimately led to more selling interest with buyers either stepping out or pulling down their price ideas.

Old crop is not really discussed, industry sources report.
