Brewing news USA, NY: Secatogue Brewing Company weeks away from opening in West Islip

West Islip’s new craft brewery is weeks away from opening, GreaterBayShore reported on April 2.

After hitting a series of delays, Secatogue Brewing Company owner Ken Srubinski told GreaterBayShore he will be swinging the doors open the first weekend in May (hours are still to be determined.)

“It has been a long time coming,” said Srubinski, who is opening the brewery in his hometown. “We’ve heard everyone’s enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to open.”

The West Islip beer lover will be running his first brewery with family, including his wife and West Islip High School sweetheart.

For the opening weekend, Secatogue will have between six to eight of their own beers on tap.

The brewery, located at 375 Union Boulevard, is 4,300 square feet and could hold about 100 people, according to Srubinski.
