EU: Germany’s malt production in July/May declines, France uses less barley for malting in July/June 2016/17

German malt production in July/May 2016/17 amounted to 1.659 mln tonnes - minus 15,000 tonnes y/y, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their September report citing official statistics.

French barley use in July/June was 1.677 mln tonnes, which is 20,000 tonnes less than over the same period in the last season.

U.K. barley use was 1.847 mln tonnes in July/June 2016/17 – a plus of 26,000 tonnes y/y.
