EU: Malt exports total 2.08 mln tonnes in July – May 2016/17
EU malt exports in 1 July 2016 - 30 May 2017 were 2.08 mln tonnes, 13% less than last year and 4.7% less than two years ago (provided the new export reporting system is correct and up-to-date), H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier this month.
The main destinations were Japan 224 thousand tonnes, Vietnam 201 thousand tonnes, Nigeria 114 thousand tonnes, Brazil 78 thousand tonnes, South Africa 69 thousand tonnes.
EU’s malt imports were 14,000 tonnes, 7,000 tons each from duty-free Ukraine and Serbia.
