Malting news Namibia: The Namibia Breweries Limited plans barley processing plant by 2022

The Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) plans to build a fully-fledged barley processing plant by 2022, to produce all its beer brands from locally sourced products, the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation reported on March 7.

Currently, NBL imports about 36 000 tons of barley to produce the Windhoek Lager, Tafel Lager, Windhoek Light, and Windhoek Draught Beer brands.

The company estimates the investments required for the new facility at around USD1 bln.
