The National Union of Beer Industry Employers of Poland (ZPPP) has registered positive tendencies of the Polish beer market during the first half of year 2002. In this period global sales increased to 12 million hl up from 11.1 million hl in the same period of the previous year. The leading companies on the Polish market are the Heineken controlled Zywiec Group, which sold 4 million hl of beer in 2002 compared to 3.79 million hl in the same period in 2001 and Kompania Piwowarska, which sold 3.8 million hl.
