“The Belgian brewing force, Interbrew, is expected to lodge a complaint with French competition authorities this week over the control exerted on the French beer market by its competitors, Heineken and S&N-owned Kronenbourg,” according to a report in the French newspaper, Les Echos. Interbrew’s two main competitors control around 70% of the distribution in the French beer market, said the company "This is a question of our survival on the French market," said Patrice Thys, Interbrew general secretary. An initial study by the French competition authority recommended that Heineken and Kronenbourg each sell 15 warehouses. The two brewers are expected to respond to those findings this week.
