Malting news Ukraine: Enterprises produced 35,600 tons of malt in May

Ukrainian enterprises produced 35,600 tons of malt in May 2007, in line with the production in 2006 and up 8% as compared to current April, according to State Statistics Committee, Agrimarket reported June 22.

According to the results of report period, the leader on malt production in the described period became "Vostochnoukrainskaya company Malteurope" Ltd (Kharkov) with produced 9,000 tons of malt. OJSC "Slavutskiy malt plant' with 7,800 tons follows the leader. "Berdichevskaya malt company" Ltd and CJSC "Beer plant Obolon" possess the third and the forth places – 3,500 and 4,200 tons accordingly.

By the end of May, quantity of malt stocks at enterprises was 38,800 tons, down by 15% as compared to the analogous period in April.

During the eleven months of 2006/07 MY (July-May), malt production in Ukraine was 346,500 tons against 355,000 tons during the analogous period in 2005/06 MY.
