USA: Pyramid Breweries Inc. & Redhook Brewery Ale Inc ' stocks rose
Shares in two publicly traded Puget Sound beer companies Pyramid Breweries Inc. and Redhook Brewery Ale Inc. both rose substantially Monday, on a day when few stocks performed well, according to Puget Sound Business Journal, January 22.
Shares in Woodinville-based Redhook rose more than 4 percent, up 27 cents, to close at $6.67 and shares in Seattle-based Pyramid Breweries rose more than 3 percent, up 11 cents to close at $3.61
Neither company made any announcements that would trigger the rise in prices, on a day when the NASDAQ stock exchange fell more than 20 points, down .83 percent.
There's been seattle.bizjournals.com/seattle/stories/2007/01/01/daily27.html speculation that Redhook was discussing a merger with Widmer Brothers Brewing Co. of Portland.
