Latvia: Aldaris increased its beer sales by 16 pct in 2006

In 2006 JSC Aldaris produced about 83 million litres of different drinks, 16 pct or 11 million litres more than in 2005, Dienas Bizness reported January 12.

As informs Ilmars Jargans, the sales in the winter season has not been reduced because of the warm weather.

In December 2006, in comparison with December 2005, sales of beer increased by 24 pct, and sales of bottled water by 77 pct.

Beer sales increased by 12 pct and reached 60 million litres last year. Sales of bottled water increased by 36 pct on the domestic market, exceeding 15 million litres; also export volume of bottled water increased by 31 pct year-on-year.

Last year Aldaris started production of Carlsberg beer (not only for domestic market but also for export).
