Canada: Lakeport Brewing Chair & CEO, Teresa Cascioli distinguished with Innovation Award

Lakeport Brewing Income Fund announced on May 05 that its Chair & Chief Executive Officer, Teresa Cascioli, is being honoured by the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Toronto. The Business Excellence Awards ("BEA") are distributed in six categories. Ms. Cascioli will receive the Innovation Award. This award honours an individual who does things differently and is prepared to take necessary risks in order to establish a new product or launch his/her business, while exercising sound business judgment.

The BEA were established in 2003 to recognize and honour individuals in the business community who demonstrate excellence in their field, as well as to celebrate and showcase those individuals who have changed the landscape of the Greater Toronto Area, enhanced the economic structure of our environment and given a competitive edge to their business. The six recipients have all shown an entrepreneurial spirit embodying commitment, passion, integrity and leadership. "It is an honour to be recognized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Toronto. I share this award with the over 170 employees at Lakeport who are committed to and have a passion for making great quality beer" said Cascioli. The awards will be handed out at a gala reception at the Paramount Event Venue in Vaughan on May 18, 2006. Lakeport Brewing Income Fund is an Ontario-based brewery focused on producing value-priced quality beer for the Ontario take-home market.

Lakeport pioneered the "24 for $24" value segment. Lakeport produces nine proprietary beer brands, two of which, Lakeport Honey Lager and Lakeport Pilsener, are amongst the top ten selling brands in the province of Ontario. Lakeport has over 170 full-time employees at its production facility in Hamilton, Ontario.
