Brewing news EU:Researches on beers health benefits

Two beer-producing European countries have released studies that would link the brew to good health. The Austrian researchers said a key ingredient in beer, hops, acts as an anti-inflammatory. They suspect hops affects body chemicals by reducing inflammatory agents and promoting calming ones, according to media reports of March 14.

Czech researchers found, in another study, that moderate beer consumption slows aging and reduces risk of heart attack in men, in part by increasing levels of HDL or "good" cholesterol.
