Brewing news UK: Brewer's investment secures future of deal pub

Britain oldest brewer Shepherd Neame has acquired The Plough & Harrow at Tilmanstone, a country pub set between Deal and Dover, with plans to improve the pub, the brewer announced on February 2.

The 18th century pub has a rustic, welcoming interior with a log fire and simple wooden furniture. It offers a range of Shepherd Neame ales, a conservatory restaurant serving traditional pub food and four bedrooms offer good value accommodation. Outside, there is a large garden and car park.

Shepherd Neame's property and tenanted trade director George Barnes said, "The pub has lots of potential for improvements and, in conjunction with our new tenants, we hope to develop the menu and enhance the garden and the pub's interior.

New tenants will join the pub in the next few weeks with new exterior signage to follow.
