EU: EU Commission policy regarding barley intervention stocks
The EU Commissions barley policy is to sell out intervention stocks at competitive, but still reasonable prices, analysts estimate.
No export restitutions for non-intervention barley were granted. The Commission must hope that world market levels come closer to minimum EU prices, and there is a chance they do for Western Mediterranean destinations.
On the other hand there is a distinct risk of intervention applications in East Germany, Finland and all new member states in Central/Eastern Europe
