World: Barley trade, crop forecast up in USDAs February report
Global barley trade in 2024/25 is forecast to total 26.114 mln tonnes, USDA said in their February report thus increasing their January forecast by 25 thousand tonnes (due to increased export forecast for the US).
The 2023/24 barley trade is seen at 31.943 mln tonnes.
World barley crop is forecast at 142.47 mln tonnes, up from the January forecast of 142.03 mln tonnes but still lower than the 143.374 mln tonnes forecast for 2023/24.
Global barley consumption is seen at 146.167 mln tonnes (146.188 mln tonnes in the January report, 142.834 mln forecast for 2023/24) and ending stocks at 17.641 mln tonnes (17.548 and 21.338 mln tonnes, respectively).
